As part of the ongoing International Year of Cooperatives celebration, the GROWMARK System has announced its support of Farmers Feeding the World, an industry-wide campaign to rally North American agriculture in the war against hunger. They raise financial support for organizations already on the front lines in fighting global hunger, and educate the general public about agriculture’s role in feeding a hungry world.
What better way to aid a group focused on feeding the world than by creating a cookbook?
You know that recipe you’re always asked for at potlucks or family gatherings? Share it with us! We will be accepting submissions for a GROWMARK System cookbook until April 15, 2012.
Recipes should fit into one of the following categories: Appetizers and Beverages; Soups and Salads; Vegetables and Side Dishes; Main Dishes; Breads and Rolls; Desserts; Cookies and Candy; and This and That. You may send in as many recipes as you like.
Recipes should be sent to Karen Jones at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1701 Towanda Avenue, Bloomington, IL 61701. Please include your name as you’d like to see it printed in the cookbook, your relationship to the GROWMARK System (member cooperative name, division name, retiree, or friend), and a telephone number or email address where we can contact you with any questions about your recipes.
Cookbooks will be available for purchase during October (Cooperative Month) and delivered in time to make perfect holiday gifts for friends and family. Price will be determined once we see how many recipes are submitted. All proceeds above printing costs will be donated to Farmers Feeding the World.
