GROWMARK Starts with "G"iving

I recently sat in on a discussion about the GROWMARK Foundation, the charitable giving arm of the GROWMARK System. The Foundation is one of the lesser-known parts of the System, probably because in true GROWMARK fashion, we don’t like tooting our own horn about the contributions that we make. Nevertheless, it’s a crucial part of our culture here at GROWMARK and as such, I asked Ann Kafer, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing Services (and Director of the Foundation) to write a post about why we give and who it affects.

GROWMARK is committed to being a good corporate citizen by committing to doing business the right way -- adhering to sound business practices and investing in our industry, community, and future leaders.

We support programs and projects which enhance the objectives of GROWMARK and its shareholders through contributions from The GROWMARK Foundation. Our investments support:

  • The vitality of the industry of agriculture and responsible environmentalism through clean water initiatives, Farm Bureau programs and conferences, and industry-specific associations such as the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives and the Truth About Trade and Technology group;
  • Agriculture education and consumer understanding of agriculture’s contributions to society and the economy through scholarships to colleges and universities and Agriculture in the Classroom efforts of Farm Bureau in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin;
  • Agricultural leadership development through FFA, 4H, Illinois Ag Leadership Foundation, and Farm Bureau Young Leader programs in our core geography of Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and where applicable in Ontario, Canada;
  • Organizations and efforts to educate the public about the benefits of the cooperative way of doing business through support of cooperative councils and associations that engage in educational efforts on behalf of cooperatives;
  • Organizations that help build a strong home office community in McLean County, Ill., including United Way, educational institutions, hospitals, and organizations which work to prevent/treat diseases or respond to natural disasters.

As a fairly new employee, I’m proud to work for an organization that strives to be such a good corporate citizen. I feel fortunate that GROWMARK encourages me to volunteer and shares the same values of community, leadership, and agriculture that I do.

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title.Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword.There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword....wait there's even more Now what if i told you there was a simple Wordpress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That's right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. <a href="">Seo Plugin</a>
