May 19, 2017 – Fifteen agriculture students have been selected as the first class of recipients of The GROWMARK Foundation scholarship.More than 125 students from across the United States and Ontario, Canada, applied for the award. Applications were evaluated by a panel of agribusiness professionals, and the funds are available for the fall 2018 semester.
“We are pleased to provide financial support to these fifteen outstanding students,” said Amy Bradford, GROWMARK manager, Corporate Communications and manager of The GROWMARK Foundation. “Their pursuit of higher education in agriculture will position them well to potentially become a part of the GROWMARK System in the future, whether that may be employment at GROWMARK or an FS member cooperative, or as a farmer-owner of their local cooperative.”
Scholarship recipients, in alphabetical order, are:
Emily Bloemer, of Bloomington, Illinois. She is the daughter of Paul and Sandra Bloemer and is studying agricultural accounting at the University of Illinois.
Bradley Braddock, of Patoka, Illinois. He is the son of Harry and Angie Braddock and is studying agriculture leadership education at Illinois State University.
Jenna Cowan, of Earlville, Illinois. She is the daughter of Pete and Lisa Cowan and is studying agronomy at Iowa State University.
Frazier Curless, of Urbana, Illinois. He is the son of Brian and Sandy Curless and is studying agricultural and consumer economics at the University of Illinois.
Brad Holdgrafer, of Bryant, Iowa. He is the son of Gary and Lisa Holdgrafer and is studying agriculture at Iowa State University.
Michelle Johnson, of Stillman Valley, Illinois. She is the daughter of Dale and Christine Johnson and is studying animal science at Highland Community College.
Makayla Klumpyan, of Plymouth, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of Terry and Paula Klumpyan and is studying agricultural education at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.
Erin Marchant, of Darlington, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of Mark Marchant and Vickie Marchant and is studying agribusiness at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.
Ty Montgomery, of Coats, Kansas. He is the son of Kenny and Lori Montgomery and is studying animal biotechnology and biochemistry at Oklahoma State University.
Tony Rice, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Gerald and Sharon Rice and is studying agricultural business management at Pennsylvania State University.
Skyler Stahl, of Brownstown, Indiana. He is the son of Bruce and Mendy Stahl and is studying agribusiness at Purdue University.
Colin Stark, of Pontiac, Illinois. He is the son of Jeff and Christine Stark and is studying agronomy at Iowa State University.
Nicole Sudbeck, of Seneca, Kansas. She is the daughter of Steven and Donna Sudbeck and is studying agronomy at Kansas State University.
Delaney York, of Robinson, Illinois. She is the daughter of Clifford York and DeAnn Hoagland and is studying biology and pre-veterinary medicine at Eastern Illinois University.
Luke Zimmerman, of Forrest, Illinois. He is the son of Jeff and Stephanie Zimmerman and is studying animal sciences at the University of Illinois.
