Support for the FFA, and other youth organizations, is part of our cooperative heritage. One of the seven cooperative principles is "concern for community," and we believe the FFA is a wonderful way to help uphold the future of agriculture!
The GROWMARK Foundation has long been a strong support of FFA programs at both the state and national levels.
We contribute annually to a wide variety of programs, from the Iowa FFA Association's Meals for the Heartland to scholarships in several states, the annual Essay Contest as well as career development events, proficiency award recognition, conferences and conventions. In fact, each state receives a unique package of support based on their needs.
GROWMARK and the FS member cooperatives are also active supporters of local FFA chapters both financially and through volunteering. Our employees help FFA chapters prepare for contests, serve as judges for record books and degree applications, and share their professional experiences with students interested in careers in agriculture. Many employees are involved with alumni affiliates that provide even more local opportunities to connect with students, as well as fundraising efforts.
The first line of the FFA Creed states "I believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds." All of our employees believe in the future of agriculture, and we know part of that future rests in the FFA. We're proud to support this great organization with more than our words alone and plan to continue doing so for many years.
