Summer Work Opportunities for Students
Member Cooperatives in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin hire
200 – 300 individuals each summer for a variety of seasonal
or part-time positions. Students 18 or older with an
interest in agriculture and who are attending any college
may apply. Students should live within driving distance of a
Member Cooperative.

environment

Positions Available:
- Crop Scout: Monitor customers’ fields to
identify weed, insect, and disease problems. Individual
will use integrated pest management techniques to
determine treatment thresholds. Written reports are
generated and presented to supervisor and/or customer.
- Custom Applicator: Operate equipment to apply
plant food and/or plant protection products to
customers’ fields. Ability to obtain custom application
license is required.
- Operations Assistant: Perform customer
service and plant operation duties (i.e. deliveries,
plant food blending, warehouse duties, and equipment and
facility maintenance).
- Building Crew: Work with professionals
constructing FS grain systems.
